Do you want to clear the sewer yourself? There's a good chance the blockage is too deep, and you'll need an experienced plumber, but for small blockages, there are a few steps you can take to clear the drainage system yourself:
For small or minor blockages, you can pour hot water and baking soda down the drain. Baking soda is a natural cleaning salt that can loosen and dissolve caked-on residue inside the drain. This can help prevent a developing blockage.
You can also try slowly pouring a mixture of baking soda and vinegar (because the mixture fizzes) down the drain to free the sewer from limescale deposits. Water contains limescale particles, which remain in the sewer and accumulate over time. You can prevent this by regularly using vinegar.
Some superficial blockages are located just behind the siphon. You can attempt to clear the sewer by unscrewing the siphon at the drain where water is not draining or draining slowly, and cleaning it with water and baking soda. Then, reattach the siphon to the drain and check if the blockage has been resolved.
Some superficial blockages can be resolved using tools like a plunger and a drain snake. However, incorrect use can worsen the blockage or even puncture the pipe. Therefore, be very careful when using these tools, or immediately call in the help of a sewer specialist.
